USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6)

The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) arrives in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for a brief port visit on its return leg of a six-month deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Bonhomme Richard, the flagship of Expeditionary Strike Group Five, has made three deployments during the past three years in support of the Global War on Terrorism, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) steams underway with a Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) alongside in the Indian Ocean. The LCACs of Assault Craft Unit Five (ACU-5) are capable of transporting more supplies than helicopters in a single trip.
