USS McInerney (FFG 8)

The guided-missile frigate USS McInerney (FFG 8) tows a self-propelled, semi-submersible craft seized Saturday, Sept. 13 by Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment 404. USS McInerney (FFG 8)

The guided missile frigate USS McInerney (FFG 8) is anchored in Caldera Bay, Chile, while its crew enjoys a day of liberty in town. McInerney is among 19 ships participating in Teamwork South 2003. Teamwork South is a bi-annual multi-national exercise hosted by the Chilean Navy and conducted in Chilean territorial waters to further bolster a robust relationship and mutual understanding in the region. It offers a unique opportunity to maintain a consistent training environment in the region as well as a continued multi-national commitment to hemispheric defense and coalition. USS Laboon (DDG 58)

The guided missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58) transits up the Delaware River for a four day St. Patrick’s Day port visit. Laboon Sailors enjoyed a Philadelphia 76’s basketball game, and visited the Liberty Bell, while hosting 60 delayed entry personnel from Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Philadelphia. Laboon is on a scheduled six-month deployment in support of Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 2 and is conducting operations in support of Operation Active Endeavor. Active Endeavor operates in the Mediterranean Sea and is designed to prevent the movement of terrorists or weapons of mass destruction as well as to enhance the security of shipping in general.
