A visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) team from the Philippine Navy makes its way to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) from the corvette Apolinario Mabini (PS 36) to carry out a boarding exercise. The boarding was a part of Southeast Asia Cooperation Against Terrorism (SEACAT) 2006, a week long at-sea exercise designed to highlight the value of information sharing and multi-national coordination within a scenario that gives participating navies practical maritime interception training opportunities. This vessel was originally the British Round Table Class LSL RFA Sir Bedivere (pennant L3004, callsign GSRE), built between 1965 and 1967 by Hawthorn Leslie and extensively updated to 7700 tonnes displacement between 1994 and 1998 at Rosyth. Independencia is a Niteroi class frigate commissioned into service in the Brazilian Navy in 1979.She was the fifth ship out of six in her class and the first in her class to be built in the Brazilian Navy Shipyard in Rio de Janeiro. Taylor is followed by other NATO nations' units while returning to port after the conclusion of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and the Military Committee (MC) SEA DAY Exercise. The exercise involved vessels from Greece, Turkey, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, and the United States that are currently assigned to Standing NATO Response Force Maritime Group Two (SNMG2).
