SPS Victoria (F82)
The view from the rear of a Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) embarked aboard RSS Endurance (L 207) as it departs the Spanish Navy Santa Maria-class frigate Victoria (F 82). The tank landing ship Endurance was transferring members of the Spanish19th Special Forces Unit. Spanish and Singapore Navy units are participating in the multi-nation Exercise Sea Saber 2004. Sea Saber will provide a multi-tiered training scenario in locating weapons of mass destruction aboard suspect ships operating in waters currently patrolled by coalition forces in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. SPS Infanta Elena (P 76)
The Spanish corvette SPS Infanta Elena (P 76) transits the Mediterranean Sea during Phoenix Express (PE 08). PE-08 is the third annual exercise in a long-term effort to improve regional cooperation and maritime security. The principal aim is to increase interoperability by developing individual and collective maritime proficiencies of participating nations as well as promoting friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation. SPS Infanta Elena (P-76)
Spanish corvette SPS Infanta Elena (P-76) crashes through the waves while coming along side the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2) during a Photographic Exercise (PHOTOEX). Saipan is participating in a multi-national combined exercise with North African and European forces during exercise Phoenix Express. SPS Principe De Asturias (R 11)
The Spanish aircraft carrier SPS Principe De Asturias (R 11) steams through the Atlantic Ocean while participating in Majestic Eagle 2004. Majestic Eagle is a multinational exercise being conducted off the coast of Morocco. The exercise demonstrates the combined force capabilities and quick response times of the participating naval, air, undersea and surface warfare groups. Countries involved in the NATO led exercise include the United Kingdom, Morocco, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. Truman's participation in Majestic Eagle is part of her scheduled deployment supporting the Navy's new fleet response plan (FRP) Summer Pulse 2004, the simultaneous deployment of seven carrier strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces. SPS Contramaestre Casado (SPS-A01)
Spanish ship Contramaestre Casado (SPS-A01) and USS Nassau (LHA 4) conduct operations together in the Atlantic Ocean in support of exercise Phoenix Express. The two-week long exercise is designed to strengthen regional maritime partnerships, focused on developing increased maritime domain awareness, better information sharing practices and the ability to operate jointly.
